Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use this relay harness for 55W Xenon Headlamp Kit system?
A: Yes, you can use this relay harness for both 35W and 55W HID conversion kits.
|
Q: How come there is just one triggering wire?
A: A single triggering wire will make the installation even easier. You just need to tap this wire to the any 12V power source's + or tap the wire to
the fuse box's ACC 12V+ to enable this relay.
|
Q: Where else can I use this relay harness for?
A: The purpose of the relay harness is to provide a constant and stable 12v power source to the lights these are connected to. Please
keep in mind that the relay has no physical switch and is operated by a trigger connector which is connected to the vehicle existing OE harness from the vehicle. You can use it for any
lighting applications such as headlights (low beam or high beam), fog lights, and daytime running lights, etc.
|
Q: What shall I do when I'm trying to install this relay harness for the HID kit that seems a little bit too short?
A: This relay harness is designed with approx 65-70 inches long. It should fit most mid-size to large size vehicles for installing the HID conversion
kit. However if it is still a little bit too short, you try following tips for extend it longer, please check
extend
HID Relay Harness for oversize vehicles.
|
Q: Why does the relay keep making buzzing noises after the installation?
A: A buzzing relay may indicate that the trigger wire of the harness may not be getting a stable input power; the buzzing is a result of the relay
switch closing and opening rapidly. Since a relay is operated electronically by a current, an unstable power can cause this.
Try switching the trigger wire connector to a different power source and see if the same problem occurs again. Let us know.
|
Q: Why doesn't the relay harness work after the installation?
A: Would you please try the following troubleshooting:
1) check whether the black ground terminals are properly mounted to the car chassis where there is no paints, no rust on the surface to ensure proper looping
2) check whether the red wire is mount to the battery positive or the engine bay positive terminal directly
3) check whether the fuse on the red wire is not blown
4) check whether the trigger wire receives power. You can try different 12V power source as trigger.
5) hear whether the relay module box has clicking sound when you first turn on the switch
|
Q: Why does the HID still flicker even after installing the relay harness?
A: If after installing the relay, the HID light still flickers, it indicates you will need a
capacitor type decoder to stabilize the power to eliminate the HID light from
flickering.
