How do I install this

There are 2 wires on this LED lamp, a red wire and a black wire. The red wire can be tapped into the license plate positive + wire or the tail light positive+ wire and the black goes to any ground/negative.

I've just purchased for my 1989 Ford F150 restoration project, rear plate location. It looks easy as it only has one wire, red and black leads; do I just locate any tail light wire and splice into it???? The two original, small dome type lights are rusted beyond use from the rear.
