1.) Remove the stock emblem from the vehicle.
2.) Before applying this product, please be sure to thoroughly clean the surface of the application to remove any dirt particles and any excessive adhesive from the stock emblem. Aim for a surface that feels like smooth glass when it is clean.
3.) Remove any leftover adhesive from the stock emblem, get as much off as you can to ensure the emblem sticks to the LED.
4.) Route the wires through the holes that are present on the vehicle and tap the wires to a power source you want the LED to turn on with such as your license plate lights or parking lights.
5.) Use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up the adhesive on the back of the LED and apply it ONCE. It is very important that you align the LED properly prior to sticking it on, applying and sticking it off then taking off will cause the adhesive to lose its stickiness.*
6.) Once you have the BMW Hood Emblem Background LED Light applied and positioned correctly, apply pressure to the emblem and hold it for 1-2 minutes. After holding it, use Automotive Painter's Tape (available at any auto parts store) to secure the emblem and LED to the vehicle.
7.) Use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up the LED and emblem to get rid of any moisture or air pockets between the LED and vehicle (be careful not to damage the product or vehicle).
8.) Allow the adhesive to cure and settle after 15-30 minutes, after that period, you can remove the tape.

* Installation Notes: The LED emblem has two holes for the pins of the stock emblem to fit through, although the holes are not visible through the adhesive tape, the hole is definitely there. You can use your fingers to feel where the holes are on the light and use a pen to poke a hole through them to mark the locations.
