2008-2014 Subaru WRX, STI Front License Plate Tow Hook Mount Adapter Installation Guide

You can find this product under Subaru WRX Front Bumper Tow Hook Mounting Adapter Bracket for License Plate (AA2270)

Step 1: Open the front tow hook cover. You can use a pry tool for easier access.

Step 2: Take the iJDMTOY tow bar and insert it into the tow hook location. Make sure the stick is inserted perpendicular to the opening. There is only one entry point for the threading to latch on. Slowly turn the license plate mount stick clockwise, up to 360 degrees until it catches on. Do not tilt the stick in any way.

The tow hole adapter stick does not have to be extremely tight, just enough so that it's secure. Since the license plate isn't considered heavy duty, you just need to make sure that it's secured enough so the license plate will not spin. You can even use a wrench to properly secure if you wish.

Step 3: Mount the license adapter plate. Note that the side with the iJDMTOY logo is supposed to face the back.

The license plate adapter is designed with curves along with 8 different locations so you can choose which location you want to mount your adapter plate and at the angle you desire. If your car has parking sensors, you can utilize the 8 different locations to mount around the sensors. As you install, you can slightly tilt the adapter plate so it follows the curve of your bumper. Please don't use a power tool to tighten the screw because you will risk damaging the screw.

After you mount the bracket, you will notice that there is a slight gap between the license plate adapter plate and the vehicle's bumper. This is normal and gives you some rear access to complete the installation.

Step 4: Mount your license plate. This package comes with a set of special locking theft-deterrent bolts so that once you install the license plate adapter, it's extremely difficult to steal. Use a screwdriver and wrench to tighten the screws.

Enjoy your new license plate tow hook adapter.
