This tutorial will show you how to install the front grille ultra slim CREE LED light bar kit (70-289) on the 2018-up Ford F-150 XL & XLT facelift models. This installation will involve drilling holes in your Ford truck's front grille in order to secure the dual LED light bars. Also note that this slim LED light bar kit will not fit in the Lariat, Raptor, King Ranch, Platinum or Limited trims. After you finish the installation, your Ford F-150 will gain a boosted industrial appearance as well as high powered light output.
Step 1: Slide in the single row LED light bar inside your front grille insert gap. Mark your drilling locations.
Step 2: Drill holes where you marked your mounting locations.
Step 3: Mount the 13" LED light bar using a hex screw/spring washer/flat washers combination on both ends.
One flat washer goes to the hex screw while the other flat washer is lined up along the LED light bar mounting hole.
These LED light bars are light enough so that securing them in your grille will keep them in place and not moving.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 on the other side.
Step 5: Wire the ultra slim LED light bars using the included relay wiring harness.
Step 6: Test the LED light bars to make sure they fully light up. Once you have, you may now enjoy your F150 XL or XLT's brand new grille-mounted slim LED light bars!
