This installation guide will show you how to install the 80W CREE LED fog light kit (70-256) for the 2015-2017 Ford F150 truck. The OEM fog light dismantling steps mimic that of the Q-5 CREE combination-beam hyperspot LED fog light kit so if you are familiar with this leg of the installation process, you may skip to step 10 after preassembling the LED pod light bracket set.
Before you get started, get to know the two different metal plates included in your package. The metal mounting bracket has an extended lip on which you mount the LED pod lights, and has OEM bezel matching mounting locations. You can distinguish the two back brackets apart by the direction the lips are pointing; passenger side lip curves to the right while driver side lip curves to the left. The front plate bezels have curves on its lower corners to match the same of your lower bumper and create a flush fit.
Step 1: Preassemble the LED pod light bracket assembly. Install the U-shaped brackets onto the LED pod lights.
Bolt the two LED pod lights onto the back plate metal bracket. Make sure the lights are facing in the direction of the arrow.
Secure the front metal bezel to the back plate metal mounting bracket using the included M6 screws and nuts.
Step 2: Turn your wheel inwards to give yourself clearance to work.
Step 3: Remove the 4 screws circled in red in the picture below, 2 on the wheel well and 2 on the fender flare. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other side.
Step 4: Once the bolts are completely unscrewed, completely remove the fender flare off of the lower end of your Ford truck headlights.
Step 5: Remove the screws located indicated by the circles below.
Step 6: Remove the air vent to reveal your stock fog light.
Step 7: Unscrew the 4 bolts circled in red securing the OEM fog light bezel.
Step 8: Separate your factory fog lamp and unbolt the vertical beam to give yourself more hand space.
Step 9: Take out the bezel from the fog light opening. Please be patient in performing this step because this is the most difficult part of the installation. Angle the bezel carefully so no other parts become loose. You won't have to remove the bumper to install the cubed CREE LED fog lights this way.
Step 10: Mount the LED pod lamp bracket assembly onto the fog light location in your Ford's lower bumper.
Step 11: At this point, you may adjust the LED fog lights so that it points forward instead of off to the side.
Step 12: Wire your LED fog lights using the included relay wiring harness with on/off switch.
Step 13: Test your LED fog lamps to make sure it functions properly. Once you've confirmed that they do, put the air vent bezel, wheel well, and fender flare back into place to finish. You may now enjoy your Ford F-150's 80W cubed CREE LED fog lights!
